Kristen Grainger & True North

West coast string band Kristen Grainger & True North weave together modern and traditional styles of bluegrass and Americana, showcasing the band’s core strengths: songwriting, vocal harmonies, and instrumental prowess. Fronted by vocalist Kristen Grainger, the band is a collection of superlative players and singers: luthier and multi-instrumentalist Dan Wetzel, Martin Stevens on mandolin, octave mandolin, and fiddle, and bassist Josh Adkins. 

Kristen’s songwriting has earned top honors at Wildflower, Telluride, and Merlefest, and the band showcased at SXSW in 2022 on the USA Songwriting stage and has toured internationally. She was named, alongside Brandi Carlile and Dolly Parton, one of the “Women Who Wrote Our 2020 Soundtrack” byThe Bluegrass Situation.
